I'm Devon - an illustrator passionate about picture books. I like the area between thought provoking, tenderness, and a good laugh. My favorite characters have hearts of gold with impish instincts.
I had a magical childhood growing up in Panama with the jungle as my backyard and parrots and iguanas as pets. Much of my work draws from the wild lushness of my first home. I earned my BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2000 focusing on screen printing and illustration. After RISD, I moved to California where I exhibited in art shows and worked in graphic design at a national children's publication. I created "Mural Studio" and operated my small business all over the Bay Area. I currently live in Aachen, Germany, with my metalworking husband, two funny, creative kids and our hard of hearing hound dog. My studio is a charming attic space surrounded by trees and tall rooftops where magpies and crows hang out. The bakeries and dutch cheese (and lots of great travel) make up for the rain and our kids find magic in the pinecone forests and trampolines in every garden.

"When I updated my film production company's website I needed something that communicated our brand and was true to our origins. Devon was fabulous during the entire process, from start to finish. She was enthusiastic, a great communicator, and an intuitive and skilled designer. She understood my intentions, and delivered proofs, sketches, and final artwork on time and within budget. The logo she designed has graced the film credits, posters, and other promotional materials on all of our films, including a documentary featured on the 'In the Heart of the Sea' dvd (Warner Brothers), another that is airing on PBS this year, and a third that swept the 'Best Children's Program' awards at film festivals."
