I'm Devon - an illustrator passionate about picture books and encouraging daydreamers. I grew up in Panama with the jungle as my backyard and yellow headed parrots and iguanas as pets. I earned my BFA in textiles/screen printing from RISD in 2000. After art school I spent many years in California growing two businesses and having two kids. Home is now beautiful Aachen, Germany, with my husband, two slightly bigger kids and our hard of hearing hound dog. The wildlife in Germany is much different than in Panama, but I enjoy the magpies, crows, and fields of sheep greatly - especially the elusive red squirrels.
I've worked in graphic design for a children's publication, operated a mural and fine art business around the CA Bay Area, and have been a painter & maker of small and not so small things since I can remember. I am currently following my love for illustrating and writing children's books and am looking for representation.
I work mostly in gouache and color pencil with collage elements, and digital finishing. My inner seven year old and my kids remind me to stay curious, play, and keep dreaming.

"When I updated my film production company's website I needed something that communicated our brand and was true to our origins. Devon was fabulous during the entire process, from start to finish. She was enthusiastic, a great communicator, and an intuitive and skilled designer. She understood my intentions, and delivered proofs, sketches, and final artwork on time and within budget. The logo she designed has graced the film credits, posters, and other promotional materials on all of our films, including a documentary featured on the 'In the Heart of the Sea' dvd (Warner Brothers), another that is airing on PBS this year, and a third that swept the 'Best Children's Program' awards at film festivals."
